There's the celeb baby named Sunday, Wednesday Adams, I have a girl called Tuesday in one of my classes and I saw somebody asking about Saturday as a name t'other day.

What are your thoughts on using days as names? It is not something I am fond of in the slightest, but I'm really looking forwards to hearing your opinions on the subject. Thank you.

I used to go to swimming lessons with a girl named Tuesday (or, maybe it was Wednesday) when I was young... the whole concept has never sounded right to me, even when I was six! Sunday, Monday, Tuesday etc. lack sophistication, intelligence and general respect... I mean, how can a parent expect their child to grow into the name Tuesday or Saturday? It's that taboo, even to the extent of such names potentially harming the child emotionally - their credibility and their own self worthiness.

I also just really really don't like day and month names, I just dont think they 'go'. I think all week names are hideous, though I have a friend who's changed his name from Joe to Winston Tuesday : ) Which i think is a GREAT name, but all the others I don't like. I also really dont like the whole 'Sunday Rose' thing all the celebs are loving, lol : )

So yeah, it's either Winston Tuesday, or forget the other days of the week, let alone the months!

I don't care for them at all. To me such names seem very common in a negative way. We use these words as nouns on a daily (forgive the pun) basis so to give them as names that are allegedly interesting or "unique" seems backwards. They aren't unique--they're commonly used! I feel the same way about common noun names like River or Skye; they're so ubiquitous as regular words that I find them completely uninteresting as names and more indicative of some banal trend that will pass as quickly as it came, leaving some poor children with very unfortunate names.

Simply put, I can't understand the appeal of naming a child Tuesday, Friday etc. I do, however, find it amusing that no one ever seems to consider naming a child Monday.

I love the character of Wednesday Adams. I can so relate to her. BIG TIME! However... I am not fond of using dsys of the week as baby names. It's seems like... the parents just said, "What day is it? Oh.. it's Sunday. Let's name our baby that."

It just seems like a "fad" thing to do. People can still use a name that isn't used very often if they want to name their child something unique. I love the name Bridgette and it's not a name you hear a lot.

So... that's my take.

I think Sunday makes for an adorable baby name! I just like the sound of it. When Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban named their daughter Sunday Rose, I thought it was sweet.

Tuesday is okay as a name. I don't really like any other week names, though. As for Saturday, it just doesn't sound as nice as Sunday =D

Personally I wouldn't name a child that.

I actually quite like Wednesday as a name but I think thats purely because of Wednesday Adams. Weekdays as names doesn't really hold any appeal for me.

I personally don't like it. If someone absolutley must use one though I wish they would stick to Tuesday and Wednesday, the rest just do not work for names at all.

not fond either. i've never actally met someone with a weekday name, but it would REALLY have to fit their personality for it to work. it would be one of those bizarre names you have to live up to. i can think of very few people i know that could pull it off.

Sunday is kind of cute, but the rest are not attractive as names. Plus the nickname Sunny for Sunday is adorable :]

I honestly think its pretty stupid to name your child after one of the names of the week. Those names aren't really even pretty they are just everyday names lol. its like naming your child apple...who the hell would name their child apple?

i think it would be cute, but possibly confusing to the child in the long run. i mean, when you name your child you should think of thier life in the future, what they will think of thier names too. after all, they're the one who has to live w/thier name for the rest of thier lifes..
