Anastasia - Nay. It's popularity in Russia and the Ukraine etc doesn't surprise me at all. It's a really pretty name, and it's not overly popular in the US or Canada, and it's pretty unheard of in the UK.

Piper - Yay. I've always liked the name Piper, but most people seem to hate the name so I never realised it was popular - it especially doesn't sound like an Australian name to me. I'm also suprised it's a popular name in Scotland.

Skye - Yay. It's a very pretty name, and I knew it was quite popular, but I never realised it was quite as popular as it is especially in the UK - I've never met anyone with the name.

Isla - Nay. Although I've never met anyone called Isla, it has become an incredibly popular name over the past few years, so I'm not at all surprised at it's popularity in so many countries.

Melody - Yay. I didn't realise this name was popular at all. I barely hear it mentioned on Y!A, and it's definitely not a popular name where I live.

Maia - Yay. Although I realised it was moderately popular, I didn't think it was quite as popular as it seems to be, especially in Scotland. I've never met anyone with the name, and I always thought Mia (Mee-Uh) was a lot more common.

Anastasia - NAY -- I'm really not surprised about the popularity in the European countries, being from Russia myself and having the name Anastasiya (now I go by Katy though), I used to know so many Anastasia's (or other spellings) it's very popular over there.

Piper - YAY -- I'm not surprised about the US statistics but I am about the Australian one, I have never ever met a person named Piper and I've never met anyone who knows anyone named Piper. The only place I have ever seen it is on this site and on Charmed.

Skye - NAY -- I'm not surprised about the England statistics, I went there last year and I must have met at least half a dozen Sky(e)'s.

Isla - NAY -- It seems to be extremely popular everywhere at the moment. I blame Isla Fisher.

Melody - NAY - I know quite a few Melody's

Maia - YAY -- I had no idea it was so popular, and in New Zealand? Wow...

Anastastia-Y- beautiful didn't realize it was so popular

Piper-N- apparently it's not that popular and I am not surprised

Skye-Y- it is not that popular, I am surprised, I have met a lot of Australians named Skye

Isla-Y-I wasn't that familiar with the name;amusing that it is so popular in Scotland (island country) I love it!

Melody-N-good name;glad it's not too popular

Maia-never seen this spelling, I am sure this name is much more popular than you think, if spelled Maya, as it works well in many languages including Spanish & Japanese. I have never heard someone pronounce Maya as may-uh, I think Maia looks more like may-uh
lotta - :)
