I think Amie is better, not only for the meaning but also the spelling is so beautiful and uncommon.

Amie Lynn, Amie Lee / Leigh, Amie Renee, Amie Marie / Maria, Amie Jo, Amie Diane, Amie Loise, Amie Christine / Christina, Amie Ash, Amie Eve, Amie Claire, Amie Reese, Amie Fae, Amie Kate, Amie Lynne, Amie Grace.

Though I might add that with either of these spellings, little Ami/Amie might have trouble when she's older and people in school or at work and such spell her name as Amy.

Good luck! Hope I helped! =)

To me, the spelling changes the pronunciation.

When I see these names written I automatically pronounce Ami as Ah-mee and Amie as Ay-mee.

That is something you might want to take into consideration. ^^

Ami Noelle

Ami Kate
