Question:
Help! We need a boys name that works with our last name "Walk"! :)?

My wife and I are sooo excited, we have a little boy on the way (he's due July 4th!!!). Everything has been PERFECT... just one thing left to go... what will we name him?

We have lots of favorites... but they don't really go with our last name which is "Walk".

Check it out....

Luke Walk (Luke Sky Walker)
Wyatt Walk (Nickname Why Walk)
Willie Walk (Will he walk?)
Owen Walk (Oh when will he walk?)
Jay Walk (Jaywalking)

If he was a she....
Ivana Walk (I wanna walk!)

But in all seriousness, our last name really is Walk (there's not too many of us...). Can you please help us with some nifty suggestions? By the way, the winner gets a cute picture of our baby when he's born! :)

Thanks so much! Good luck!

Matthew and Sarah and Baby Boy (4 now) :)

Grant Wyatt Walk - that way you get to use Wyatt since it seems to be one you really like and you can avoid the why nick name since it's a middle name.

Or

Grant Owen Walk

Carter Wyatt Walk

Ian James Walk

Joseph Wyatt Walk

James Owen Walk

Hi I loved your Question!!! I have a name for you and you may not like it but my mom got married and had 2 boys with my step father and their last name is Walker. Close to yours and my brothers names are

Waylon Matthew Walker

Justin Joseph Walker

So if you take off the er in Walker you get Walk

Waylon Matthew Walk

(my brother plays Baseball and no scout ever forgot his name!!)

or

Justin Joseph Walk ( you can call him JJ)

I also Like Wyatt Matthew Walk

I wish you luck!!!

Adam Alexander Walk (Adam=man; Alexander=defending men)

Matthew Alexander Walk (Matthew=gift of God)

Matthew Benjamin Walk

or

Benjamin Matthew Walk (Benjamin=son of the right hand)

Matthew Lukas Walk (Lukas=German form of Luke, apostle in the Bible)

Owen Alexander Walk (call him Alex) (Owen=youth, lamb)

Wyatt Alexander Walk (again call him Alex) (Wyatt=brave in war)

Benjamin Alexander Walk

Matthew Randall Walk (Randall=rim of a shield)

or

Randall Alexander Walk

Since you're surname is so short, you should choose a first and middle name that has two or three syllables so you're son's name can roll off your tongue. He'll appreciate it all his life, especially as soon as he steps into school.

The reason for such "serious" names would be because he's only small, cute and cuddly for about a fifth of his lifetime. As soon as he steps into college, he'll opt for a more "grown-up" name for his surroundings.

Still, all of these names can be abbreviated or shortened into something age appropriate... and for all the world, you can still call him 'Benny' or 'Matty' or whatever when he's thirty... as long as he's okay with it.

Have fun picking names!

How about Donta Walk? Cili Walk? Kant Walk?

Actually, there are plenty of names that don't really conjure up any images at all: Jeffrey, George, Phillp, La Velle, Martin, Marcus, Leonard, Robert (actually there was a baseball pitcher with this name Bob Walk), James, etc.

I understand your dilemma. When you write "(4 now)", I'm assuming that this is your 4th boy and you've run out of names. I really like the name Asa, pronounced AY sah. I think it sounds strong and it's Hebrew for healer, doctor.

Asa Gabriel Walk

I also like the name Garrison. It means strong.

Garrison Matthew Walk

Sounds like a great, strong name to me. Or if you have already used Matthew, you could choose Michael.

Garrison Michael Walk

Whatever name you choose, I wish you a happy, healthy baby. Give him lots of hugs for me.

Have a great day!!

With that last name, your baby's name should have two or more syllables. How about one of these:

Jonah, Baron, Johnathon, Michael, Donovan, Nolan, Avery, Anthony, Julien, Carson, Ethan, Ryan, Trenton, Jason

Congratulations on your soon to be new family member!

What a strong dignified family name -Walk-! Be proud!

Joshua is a strong name that would compliment ´Walk´. Please note, that in the Bible, Joshua is the name of the Hebrew leader who succeeded Moses as leader of Israel.

One other name you could consider is Benjamin(Jamie for short).

I wish your family and you all the best!

Since your last name is a single syllable, maybe a longer 1st name like:

Jonathan Walk

Gabriel Walk

Anthony..

Edmund...

Benjamin...

Bertrand....

Stephen...

Matthias... (kinda like Daddy's name)

Andrew...

Vincent...

Anything but CHRISTOPHER!! (Reminds me of Christopher Walken--oooh scary!)

Best of luck on the greatest experience of your lives!!

its good that you consider the teasing aspect of names, choosing you child's name is the most difficult(i think) i hope you have a baby name book and choose something that would not relate to walk such as Corbin, Garron,Grant,or Draven. you could also go for more classical names like Mitchel,Shane,Sean,or Patrick......anyway good luck

I like the sound of Thomas or Michael; something pretty traditional and devoid of the question of how to pronounce/spell the name.
