what do you think of the name Ophelia?

I've been really liking it a lot lately and it's pronounced (o FEE lee ah) but then I worry about the small things like I know how cruel kids can be so what if she's made fun of by them saying " I'll feel ya"

What do you think about the name?

Another one I really like is Lucilla, Lucy for short.

Ophelia is one of my favourite names, and she's currently sitting snugly in my Top 5 {along with Beatrix, Imogen, Violet & Florence}, so I might be a tad bit biased!!



Needless to say, I think Ophelia is stunning. To me, Ophelia has two dimensions: a lush, royal, feminine, sophisticated and rather grown up side; and a lighter, more ethereal delicacy that is just charming. These work really well together for me, and create a charming, timeless name that will age well. The 'I feel ya' thing is probably inevitable, but it's honestly not enough to put me off the name. Nor is her rather tragic literary namesake.. if Juliet can be loved and popular, why not Ophelia?!



Lucilla is nice, but reminds me a bit of Drusilla, which I will forever associate with slightly insane vampires thanks to Buffy! I prefer Lucille personally, but either way it is lovely, and Lucy is devinely sweet.

Ophelia sounds like a good name and unique name. you can better try names like Christina, Sylvia, Maria, Jasmine.

Lucila is little bit difficult to call so Lucy is the best name.

The joke only works for ppl that can't pronounce 'Oh-fee-lee-uh!' ... not 'Oh-feel-ya' really the joke is on them! look at the name Aaliyah... Ppl think it's lovely but all I here is 'A liar'... So it just depends on the person.. & Diane I think it sounds like someone is telling Anne to die - You see any name can bring something else to mind - I guess work on the phonetics you like... I like Ophelia - I love Shakespearian names =)

i love the Lucilla, Lucy idea. but ophelia just reminds me of an old lady's name and i can see her teen years being awful being called oh feel me up.

She CBS just tell them to stuff there words were there mouth is because it's the name her mum love so you should go with tour mothering instinct and name her that. Oh and charlotte and Emily are nice name as well xxx
