What do you think of the name Vienna?

For a girl (it's taken mostly from my love of the city and Billy Joel's song "Vienna").
BQ: Aside from the fact that most people think of Rose as a middle name as tacky and overused, what do you think of Vienna Rose?

Gotta love how whenever anyone asks about the name Vienna a bunch of people comment on Vienna sausages - I've never even heard of Vienna sausages so I can safely say that would never be an association for me.



I love the name Vienna, I really do. It's been a name that's always stuck in my mind since I first heard the Ultravox song of the same name. It helps that Billy Joel is a favourite of mine and I love names that have a personal meaning behind them, such as from a song that brings back memories or a city that you love.



BQ: I think it's sad that most people now consider Rose to be a 'filler' name. I think it's beautiful as a first or a middle, and just because a lot of other people think the same it shouldn't make it unusable. Vienna Rose is beautiful. It flows nicely and it sounds pretty without being over-the-top girly. I like it.

Vienna is such a beautiful name. Its girly and adorable, but still strong. It also reminds me of that song Dear Vienna by Owl City. Rose is nice but with a unique name like Vienna its not good enough.

I love the name and Rose compliments it beautifully. Vienna Rose almost rolls off the tongue. Simply gorgeous! Unique but not strange, a hard thing to manage.

I don't think Rose is a tacky middle name at all, when used with a complimentary first name. In fact my daughter's name is Lorraine Rose, named after the region in France where my husband and I visited. I normally oppose to names after places but there's something beautiful and delicate about European cities/places.

Well since everyone has referenced 'Vienna Sausages' (which I'd never heard of before!" I think maybe you could change Vienna to Sienna? I actually like Vienna better though. And I think Vienna Rose is GORGEOUS!

When I went to Vienna I thought it was really pretty and it is a lovely name!

I think Vienna Rose is great name, it doesn't really remind me of London or

Paris (which I find tacky), it is just a lovely name! I love that it is a song too

I think it will be a solid name for your daughter.

Look up Vienna sausage on the internet. Horrible smelling recycled meat sticks. Quite possibly the grossest hot dog like thing to have ever existed. First thing that comes to mind upon hearing Vienna.
