Hello all! So, the very first time we got pregnant - we had decided on the name Karoly for a girl. We never got to use the name and I completely forgot about it until this morning.

It is a real name, albeit originally a masculine name. It is not a mispelled version of Carol by the way.

We already decided on names for this baby - however, I am wondering what the current opinion is on Karoly.

BQ - Which do you prefer, of the names listed below and WHY?:

Legit spellings:

From what I've read about this name, it's Hungarian pronunciation is actually "kah-roy", and the closest to the English pronunciation I've heard sounds more like "Carly" which makes more sense since it's a variation of the name Carl. And I don't specifically like it for a girl, since it does share a strong resemblance to Carl and does still mean "free man". I'd much prefer Carly, Caroline, or Coralie. For spelling, I prefer Karoly over the others, Carola looks a bit close to Crayola.

My favorite spelling would be Karolie.

Carola reminds me of Crayola...

I like Carolie:)

I think it is a unique name. I don't know if it is a name I would use myself, but I do like the name!

Middle names: (if you need them:)

•Carolie Rose

•Carolie Jane

•Carolie Skye

•Carolie Paige

• I think this name will sound best with a one-syllable middle name

Hope this helps!
Carlie

I hate it. It looks made up even if it is a "legit" name
