It was my great grandfathers name also. Her middle name would be Elizabeth after my late grandmother. The only problem is her initials would then be LEZ ..do you think kids will make fun of her for that??

i think that is a pretty name. i dont think kids would make fun of her unless ya like another poster said if they knew her whole name. its whatever u have your heart set on. i think that it is cool that you are naming her after your grandparents. (i am thinking bout doin that if we have a boy with my "dads" middle name).

I love the name Leslie for a girl. In fact it wasn't until a few years ago I learned it was unisex. Honestly I don't know if she'd get picked on by other kids. Perhaps a little but by middle school and high school when kids would really start picking most kids don't know eachothers middle names. As for the nickname Les I would pronounce it "Les" not "lez" and avoid the problem altogether. Leslie Elizabeth is a beautiful name.

I like Leslie, but LEZ initials are best avoided. It's nice to incorporate namesakes, but not at the child's expense. Your Grandmother would be happy you even considered using her name, but am sure she wouldn't like to see it used as ammo in teasing against your daughter. I don't think it would necessarily be a big deal though. The teasing most likely wouldn't be overly severe, not everyone would know her middle name. She would get through it. My initials are MMM & I went through some remarks over it. When people would notice it they'd call me MnM & when I was in high school the guys would say Mmmmm. Not overly bad but annoying all the same.
Sort of similar name that could work:
Ainsley Elizabeth (I do like Leslie better as a first)
Different middles that sound good:
Leslie Corinne
Leslie Diane
Leslie Danielle
Leslie Catherine
Leslie Shay/ Shea
Leslie Noelle
Leslie Marie
Leslie Rachelle
Leslie Michelle

Not only would her initials be LEZ, but a nickname for her first name would be Les. The kids would make fun of her for that, most likely in middle school or high school. The girl that does the morning announcements at my school is named Leslie and every makes fun of her saying that "Les" on the announcements.

I don't like how her initials would be Lez and a nickname for Leslie is Lez/Les at all.
Why not an L name for Leslie - like Lauren or Laura or Lorelai or Lara? Why use the exact same name? Lauren Elizabeth would be lovely.

You could come up with a different first name then use Leslie-Elizabeth as a double middle name.

That's my middle daughter's name. Her middle name is Elaine. Nobody ever made fun of her because of her name and she's now 34 with a child of her own.

It's a boys name - I think she will spend her life correcting embarrassing assumptions.
Why don't you spell it Lesley so people actually know she's a girl?
