Vivian or Olivia -- Vivian! I love that you chose to stick with the original spelling (which was surprisingly originally masculine...haha). I've never really been a fan of Olivia. I knew a pretty horrible one. Vivian is gorgeous, classy, and pretty underused.
Valerie or Eve -- Valerie! I've been debating how much I like it... I am a definite fan of LIGHTS / Valerie Poxleitner, and I love that Valerie is familiar without being common. But I don't think I "love" it. At least not quite yet. I do really like it though. I think Eve is gorgeous as well. So simple, yet so stunning.
Vanessa or Ava -- Ava. Even though it's...really pretty popular... I love it. I love the sound, somehow comes across as successful and confident to me. Vanessa is too...80s? 70s? Something... Just not my style, but I think it's pretty.
Veronica or Victoria -- Victoria. Veronica has nearly the same quality as Vanessa for me. Sounds a bit middle-aged, somewhat cocky... I don't love Victoria either, but I love the nickname "Ria".
Virginia or Tova -- Tova. I've never even heard of Tova... but I went to school with a rather creepy Virginia. She was...goth-ish, I guess. She had the most uncomfortable style of clothing that just made people cringe. She was extremely tall, and really just awkward because she embraced evilness and everything. She was kind of creepy.
Vella or Vashti -- Vella, I guess. I don't love either, I don't hate either too much... Hmm, I don't know. Just Vella, for no apparent reason.
Vivienne or Maeve -- Maeve. Is it ridiculous that I detest Vivienne? I hate the option of dolled up and sissified spellings. Vivian is fine, simple, and gorgeous. Vivienne is trendy and nothing other than a celebrity name. Maeve is quite pretty.
Vada or Ziva -- Vada, though I prefer it spelled Veda. I'm not a fan of most Z names.
Vera or Caoimhe (KEE-vah) -- Vera. I adore Vera. It's a family name for me, and I love it so very much... Caoimhe is pretty (but technically doesn't have a V in it, anyway, just "sounds" like it does ;) ), but it just sets itself up for a lot of confusion in America. For the LONGEST time, I thought it was pronounced like Naomi with a C... haha, somehow, that's just what I got out of it. But, living in America, and absolutely adoring Vera... I definitely have to go for Vera. :)
Beverly or Everly -- Everly. Beverly was originally masculine too.. haha, not that I find it masculine at all, but I would just rather go with Everly than "Beverly Hills". I know a pretty nice Beverly, but she is so ridiculously hard to follow (in a conversation). She just jumps from one thing to another and I end up having NO idea what she's saying... so I just smile and nod and laugh and pretend like I know what she's talking about... haha, she's nice, and very fun, just really hard to follow.
Avril or Evadne -- Evadne! It's gorgeous, and less like Avril Lavigne. :)
Evelyn or Sylvia -- Sylvia!! I love love love Sylvia. Evelyn is nice (AND originally masculine!! haha), but much more popular than Sylvia. Sylvia is so very classy... Not overused classy, but comfortable and so pretty.
Genevieve or Evangeline -- Evangeline. Genevieve is definitely cute and beautiful, but I do know quite a few dogs named Genevieve. It kind of makes me laugh that every so often, a new "that's my dog's name" name finds its way into people's hearts... Sadie and Chloe being the first two that come to mind. I love Evangeline, it's very elegant.
Ivanna or Vanna -- Um... Ivanna. Because I can't get past the thought of "Vanna White", and I think Ivan is an okay name.
Velma or Laverne -- Laverne. Because Velma reminds me of Scooby Doo. :)
Aviva or Verity -- Verity. I don't like Aviva's "it's the same thing forward and backward!" thing. Just reminds me of Nevaeh. Verity isn't a love of mine either, but I don't hate it.
Nevaeh or Vega -- VEGA! I don't even care if it makes me immediately think of veggies, Nevaeh is on the very very bottom of my choices list. Yuck. I try my hardest to keep from ranting about it, but it's just absolutely immature and unpleasant, along with the fact that some satanists pray backwards... I mean, would you really want your child's name being used to curse Heaven? Um, that's just odd...
Violet or Eva -- Violet. Eva is pretty, but I hear it around to much. I do hear Violet around a lot as well, but I don't know any Violets at all...
Viola or Lavender -- Viola. I love music. Lavender reminds me of Harry Potter.
Valencia or Vienna -- Vienna... even though I dislike the thought of Vienna sausages and Vienna from the Bachelor. But I do love the thought of Vienna, Austria.
Verona or Valentina -- Valentina. Verona just makes me think Romeo and Juliet... which isn't horrible, but it's not like I'm the type to be obsessed with Shakespeare and literature. I think Valentina is gorgeous and foreign.
Haven or Minerva -- Minerva. This also reminds me of Harry Potter, but Haven is unpleasant.
