1. I was about 15 when I first started on baby names. Back then, I was interested in character names (for my crappy fanfiction) and found this site by chance. From there, baby names became much more interesting to me and I’ve been obsessed ever since. I guess it’s because coming up with names for future children seems more realistic and worth-while as opposed to putting names on make-believe characters.
2. I’ve been on this site for around about 7 years now and have cycled through several accounts. Originally, I was on here every day for 6+ hours a day, depending on how much free time I had. But nowadays I’m much more busy, and since I no longer garner naming inspiration from this site, I pop in maybe once or twice a day for a quick browse before moving on to something else.
3. The Infamous Bunny, NinjaRobot, Atom Reed and Arianwen, to name a few. They were regulars way back when, but one by one they left this site and now I don’t think any of them are left. I know their names to this day because this site was very much a regular community at one point, but nowadays it just tends to be a mixture of teens, tweens, anonymous and irregular users, so I’m not familiar with anyone on here currently.
4. Audrey. I don’t think I’ve ever seen her write anything nice – she mainly criticises, and often unfairly. There’s also a user named Paula who’s a bit of a gay-basher and a hypocrite. She’ll say that Aubrey is masculine, but then claims that Rowen (her #1 name) is all girl and ‘too feminine’ every time someone asks about it for boys, even though she knows damn well it’s been a boy name for hundreds of years! The pair of them really grind my gears.
5. I would classify my naming style as Essentric Classic. I like traditional names, but instead of Peter and Lea, I'm more likely to gravitate towards Peregrine and Leocadia.
6. I don’t post my favourite names on here anymore. Primarily because my names are genuinely obscure, and I would like them to stay that way. And even though I’m often bursting at the seams to share them, if I post them online they will be noticed far more than if I hadn’t. So, I’ll give you 3 names I’ve been fascinated by recently: Bellamy, Linden, Sholto + Coraline, Jovie and Olenna.
7. Boy names on girls is a very irritating trend. Without going into too much detail, the people who like masculine names on girls would never dream of using feminine names on boys, so not only are they hypocrites (as they so often claim in their defence that 'names have no gender'), but they're promoting sexism as well.
