Question:
Curious what names are considered "old" and "new" from this list?
anonymous

So basically just copy and paste these names into your answer(or however you'd like to do it) and for each name, right "old" or "new" beside it, depending on how you feel about the name. Whether you consider the name to be "old"(as in dated or classic or anything) or whether you consider it "new"(as in trendy or fresh or anything)

Thank you for your time

Kate
Brianna
Amelia
Evelyn
Rose
Ruth
Rosalie
Jade
Genevieve
Lucy
Bethany
Lily
Jane
Faith
Georgia
Nadine
Valerie

Thanks again

Every one of these names have been used years ago, in fact there are a few that are centuries old, Saints names, Katherine ( Kate ) Amelia, Evelyn, Rose, Ruth, Bethany, Lucy, Jane, Faith. Each of these names carry wonderful history of their own, one may alter the spelling to make it new, but all of them are old yet lovely names. Except for Brianna, each of them are classic, longstanding names, Brianna is younger than them all but even that name has been adapted from Bree, Saint Bree in fact. I hope this is of help.

Old/Classic Names:

Rose

Evelyn

Ruth

Genevieve

Bethany

Jane

Nadine

Georgia

New/Modern Names:

Brianna

Amelia

Rosalie

Jade

Faith

Valerie

Tricky ones:

- Kate is mainly a nickname for Caitlin and Katherine. Even though those two names are old-fashioned Kate/Katie is more trendy. So I would say new.

- Lucy is more popular now-a-days, but it is again sometimes a old-fashioned full name as Lucienne or Lucille

- Lily used to be older for Lillian but now Lillianna, Lilianne, Lillia have full names and is also a name on it's own. So I would say New.

Great Question!

Brianna- New you hear it on alot of teenager and little kids not so much the older gen.

Amelia- Old but a classic.

I think most of them are quite old sounding names

I find Kate,Amelia,Rosalie,Genevieve,Lucy,Lily & Jane quite classic

Evelyn,Rose,Ruth,Jade,Bethany,Faith and the others quite dated
My name Isobel.

Ruth, Georgia, and Nadine are the only names that I see as being old. Faith and Jade are sort of trendy now; I can see someone my age being a "Jade" or "Faith" and the trend is about to get old, the names with them.

The rest I see as 100% fresh and new and usable. :) Go ahead and use them!

I'd say most of them are old, classic names, and I love those type of names! A couple of them seem more modern, but none of them are trendy or 'yooneek'. My favourites are Kate, Rose, Rosalie, Lucy, Bethany, Jane & Georgia.

They're all old names, a new name would be Mikayla, Kylie, Brylee, etc.

I'd describe all of them except Jade as classic. Lily, Kate and Lucy are a bit trendy as full names, they're more classic when nicknames for Lillian, Katherine and Lucinda/Lucille.
