Question:
I need some unusual names...?
2006-11-18 22:50:53 UTC
I want to know some unique and unusual names. I don't mean like Aiden and Hayden and all thoughs like getting really popular names, I want to know really unusual but accepted names for babies. Like you know names like Nehemiah, Tennessee, and just names that are unusual to name babies. Even if its a name the nany will get laughed at I don't care just tell the name I can find a nick name out of the name so nobody will get laughed at. Thanks.

Try finding a list of names you like and then asking the opinions on the names (and spellings of the names) from people you respect. This child will hopefully be living a long and wonderful life with this title so your gift of a name will be so much more meaningful and special if the name is something that relates to their future, community, people and character. Be careful in your decision over spellings; does it say "This child is an original, a free spirit" or does it say "This child's parents didn't know how to spell, she's probably as thick as two short planks." (Unfair perhaps, but people form impressions quickly and your child must be able to carry their name proudly in all places.) I've also been told that it's great for a child's mind if their name can be shortened to something easily spelled so they can learn to read and write it early- if it's something too complicated they can't relate the letters to the sounds so easily and have more trouble learning to read...

My daughter's name is Maegwyn; Mae from my Dad's mother Mabel, the rest from my Mum's name Raewyn, but we shorten it to Meg....

I have a niece named Saoncyrae. I love the name and know nobody else with that name. We call her Saoncy for short. It's pronounced just as it's spelled.(Say-on-see-ray) She also has a brother named Drake, which is a little unusual too.

For your Nehemiah Leslie, i like the nick name miles, but that is a really dorky name. try something a little softer, keep nehemiah, thats a pretty cool name, but not leslie, too girly...

a blend may appear surprising - i like a great form of those names up right here, and a powerful compromise between them might use one contemporary and one classic call jointly. Honey is my well known 'contemporary' call (and it does sound slightly classic, or a minimum of that's a real be conscious and not misspelled lol), yet I dislike Allegra (too heavy with Honey for me). Honey Elizabeth, Honey Francesca, or maybe Honey Mary Martin sounds rather distinctly. i like the different contemporary first names too (Esmeralda eire is actual green, via the way lol), and that i think of my well known could be Lola. it ought to be a nickname for something like Lilian. Esmeralda could be distinctly shortened to Esme too, which will make your sister like it extra helpful lol. different techniques - Lily-Rose Francesca Martin Lilian "Lola" Esme Martin Adelaide "Heidi" Diana Martin (to make it slightly extra classic) Esme Elizabeth Martin i'm hoping this helped! Congrats to them!

My nephews names are Stelon, and Corbin, my Sons name is Bowen I call him Bo his aunts call him bo sefus, bo jangles, and Bo Bo

i knew a guy whos name was Chato but pronounce (cha - toe ), and I know a girl named chenoa pronounce (cha- no- a) it means white dove, also I have another nephew that was going to be named shadow but he was born albino so they just cut it short to shad. we call him shad rack, and shady. it is so hard to name a child i wish you the best of luck, I have a real common name and hated it growing up because there were several kids in my class and school with the same name, it got to the point our couches called us by last name or nick names.
