I lost my unborn son in the womb at 22 wks.
I was expecting boy-girl twins in Novemeber, and i have the joy and luck to still have the girl.
Whilst we are both devastated, and anyone who knows the feeling would agree, but we want to name the girl something to do with her brother.
We already have 2 girls, Amaya and Pippa.
We decided to name him Cooper.
For her we are thinking of
Abigail Cooper.
Any idea's on how else we can incorporate his name
thankyou x

I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I don't really recommend using the name Cooper as a whole, but I understand wanting to have a tribute to him. How about keeping the C at the beginning, the er at the end and naming her Abigail Clover? I think the name is sweet and you will know why her middle name is Clover, but I think using the full name would bring strong emotions back at times and who knows how it would impact Abigail knowing her middle name is the name her brother would have had if he had survived like she did. I think Abigail Clover is a great option and hope it brings you joy and peace.

I am so sorry for your loss. While I do like the name Abigail Cooper I was thinking there are other ways to honor your son and give your daughter a special name reminding her that she had a twin brother. There are names from other cultures that mean twin, or second born twin or similar, why not look through and see if there is something you like. I browsed a few on this web site

I too was in a similar situation. I was having twin boys we lost My oldest sons twin in the womb. His brother's name was going to be Edward Wayne, and my (live) birth James Carl, So my son Ended up being James Edward. and my youngest son has wayne for his middle name. It was what we wanted to do.

As far as your daughter I think it could and would work.

Abigail Cooper Is perfect.

Couple of questions however....

What was his middle name going to be?

Was her name set?

I personally like

the idea of a girly name and then the not so girly middle name.

Either way good luck and Sorry for your loss.

My condolences to you and your family.

I did a google search and found this:

The boy's name Cooper \co(o)-per\ is pronounced KOO-per. It is of Old English origin, and its meaning is "barrel maker". May also be the English form of a German surname meaning "coppersmith". Novelist James Fenimore Cooper; actor Gary Cooper.

Cooper has 1 variant form: Coop.

For more information, see also the related name Kiefer.

So...I clicked on Kiefer and these came up:

The boy's name Kiefer \ki(e)-fer\ is pronounced KEE-fer. It is of German origin, and its meaning is "barrel maker". Variant of Cooper. Actor Kiefer Sutherland; painter Anselm Kiefer.

Kiefer has 8 variant forms: Keefer, Keifer, Kieffer, Kiefner, Kieffner, Kiefert, Kuefer and Kueffner.

My suggestion is that either you:

-Pick a translation of " Cooper" in other languages,

- Pick any of the " Kiefer" variations,

- Or just name her " Abigail Cooper" if you want to keep his name intact. it sounds beautiful and has a wonderful meaning.

Good luck.

I'm so sorry to hear this! So deeply sorry! I think it's a cute idea to honor the brother in her name. I went to babynames.com and Cooper is a unisex name. I personally see nothing wrong with the idea! I kinda like it, Cooper will always be with you, no matter if you use his name in your daughter's or not. God bless you....

I was pregnant with twins a couple years ago, and lost both of them...

Im so very sorry for your loss, we almost lost our son in the womb but our miracle boy survived and arrived into this world just 2 short hours ago! - Yes, i am in the hospital bed.

No thumbs down please! :) Im a new moody mom.

I think Abigail is a great choice, it means "fathers joy." and im sure, her father is very joyed to still have his little girl, but from my experience, my fiance was extatic we were having him a little son, so i can imagine you are both devestated.

Abigail Cooper is lovely.

Im very sorry &may god bless you today.

Everything happens for a reason and im sure your son, was meant to help in heaven.

Best wishes with your beautiful girls,

Amber.

Normally, I would be totally against putting Cooper on a girl, but you just go ahead. I love that you want to remember your son and there is nothing wrong with you passing his name on.

I'm deeply sorry for your loss and I hope your little girl is beautiful and full of life! :]

I love the idea! While I don't necessarely like Cooper for a girl, I think it is great to honor her brother. What was his middle name going to be? Would that work any better for a female?
