Adele - 7 - I am more fond of Adeline, its dimunitive, so I'm going to base pretty much all of my thoughts on this name based on that. Being only one syllable long it makes a good middle name, esp. for more over the top first names.
Annette - 6.5 - Seems almost like a bit frilly version of Anne... but it still has lots of potential. I'd probably only use it if it went well with a particular first name I wanted to use.
Aurora - 6.5 - I'm sort of Yay and Nay about this one... My only thing is sometimes it seems a bit too trendy. Aurelie could be a wonderful alternative.
Ada - 4.5 - I have a thing with Ava and Ada where I pronounced BOTH of the As like "aahh." "ah va" sounds nice, but "ah da" not much. Even the pronunciation "ay da" lacks something somehow, lacks something that "ay va" can manage to get away with.
Athena - 4 - I like the thought of this name. But the few times I've seen it suggested, it's with names that seemed really trendy... In name sets where one doesn't seem to fully appreciate the history and integrity behind the name. Anyway. Maybe saveable if done right.
Antoinette - 4 - Like Annette but even more frou frou. I can't help but imagine a non-French mother using it as something that sounded very "pink" to her.
Suggestions:
Aven "ay ven" - Means beautiful radiance in Gaelic. An Anglicization of the name "Aoibheann."
Abigail "Gail" - Okay! I know how trendy this name is! But I still think it a stellar name.
Anneliese "ah neh LEE zeh" OR Annelise "ah neh LEEZ" - Actually BOTH names should be pronounced with the former (not the latter) pronunciation. I am using the latter name - as I can imagine it and it surely is - as it would be in French.
Aurelie/Aurelia
Alodie/Alodia - Little bit older version of Elodie (see BehindTheName.com for history)
