I know this could be considered as ranting, but this is an update on my new baby cousin Caleb. I figure a few of you on here who have answered my previous questions may be curious as to how he is doing, and I thought I would brief everyone.

For those of you who don't know, my cousin Caleb Andrew was born on December 29, 2012, at 11:38 PM. He only weighed 3 pounds and 12 ounces, so he was tiny at birth. He was delivered by emergency C-section because my cousin's blood pressure was too high for her to safely be able to carry him until February 21, his original due date.

Early on December 31, he was put on a ventilator due to his inability to breathe properly. He obviously couldn't be held. My cousin hadn't even seen him yet, and his dad could only take pictures of him. He was a strong fighter and was removed from it on January 7. He is breathing so much better now! I got to see him for the first time this past weekend, and that baby is incredibly adorable! He got his picture for his birth announcements taken without the oxygen, and he did really well! My cousin sent my current profile picture to me a few minutes ago, and I just had to put it up to show off how cute he is! Caleb will grow up to be an amazing boy.

My cousin told me that some time in early to mid February that the doctors want to car seat test him, so that is great news for us! They want to make sure he can keep his own vitals up. Of course, this means he will have to be weened off of oxygen, which he hasn't started that process yet. His lungs are still underdeveloped, and my cousin says he still sometimes forgets he has to breathe.

Caleb has a little brother named Jacob Nicholas who turned 4 in October. So far, he has only seen pictures of his baby brother, but Chris, his dad, makes sure to tell him about Caleb. He is so ready for Caleb to leave the NICU. I baby sat him this weekend for a while, and he kept telling me about how badly he wants to meet his brother. The love Jacob has for baby Caleb is incredible. I think they are going to be the best of friends growing up, and Jacob is going to be a great big brother.

I am terribly sorry for ranting, but I just wanted to give everyone an update on how well little Caleb is doing. He isn't out of the woods yet, but we know he will pull through. If it isn't too much to ask, could you all pray for him to continue doing so well? We all need all of the love and support we can get. He is so tiny and precious.

The main point of the question: what do you think of baby Caleb Andrew's name? Does it flow well with Jacob Nicholas? Are Jacob and Caleb too close?

Thank you so much! =)

P.S. The little guy in my profile picture is baby Caleb! Isn't he adorable?

Thank you so much for the update. I am very happy to hear that his health is improving and I will be sure to continue to pray for Caleb. He is such a strong little boy and he is very lucky to have such an amazing and supportive family surrounding him. Hopefully, Jacob won't have to wait too much longer to meet his little brother. Jacob sounds like such a great little boy and he will make a great big brother to baby Caleb. It is so adorable to see how caring a four year old can be. Not only do the names go well together, but these boys seem like they were made for each other. Caleb is so strong, but he will always have Jacob there to protect him. They will defiantly make the best friends growing up.

By the way, Caleb is ridiculously adorable :)

Of course I will pray for him! He sounds so incredibly brave, your cousin must be so proud. I hope Jacob gets to meet his little brother very soon. I'm glad you posted this question, it's nice to see that he's making such a lot of wonderful progress. I gave birth at 30 weeks to a precious little girl who unfortunately was too small and underdeveloped to survive. She weighed 3lbs 5oz and grew her angel wings at 4 days old. She fought right to the end.

Caleb Andrew and Jacob Nicholas are both beautiful names. They fit together wonderfully.

P.S, yes he is! The girls in my profile picture are my daughters.

i'd be certain to contain toddler Caleb and your cousin in my prayers this evening. As I stated on your previous question, I genuinely adore his call. Caleb Andrew is a valuable call through itself, even if the meaning in the back of that is what makes it that a lot more beneficial particular. i love the call Caleb and seeing it on one of those useful toddler boy makes me like it even more beneficial than I initially did. Andrew is yet another solid call and it flows particularly nicely with Caleb. i particularly desire Caleb Andrew to Owen Avery (it really is also very good-looking) and that i imagine that Jacob and Caleb sound stunning mutually.

Yes, he is so adorable!

I just wanted to let you know that when they do the car seat test on him- ensure that the car seat is at a 45 degree angle, which is the maximum amount of recline any rear facing car seat on the market will allow. The car seat should be in at a 45 degree angle in the car too. Some hospitals do the tests incorrectly (more upright than 45 degrees) which will result in failure for a premature infant.

I think Jacob and Caleb match together really well, and it's nice to see he's doing ok. But, I think they'd struggle if they had a third child, I can't think of any pleasant names off the top of my head that end in B.

PS, the dog in my picture is princess Melody! Isn't she adorable?

Many thanks for the update, when we answer, we don't often get to hear as to whether the name has been chosen, how the child is doing etc. Darling little Caleb Andrew will be kept in my thoughts and prayers, he has a wonderful name, please wish his parents well for me.
