I work in a pediatric office and the name Jack (just like Sam) is becoming incredibly common. Bo, on the other hand, is not. I suppose on it's own it is not that bad (and I think the French spelling would be worse), but a different middle name would be better. Bo Jack reminds me of a piece of jerky or the Dukes of Hazzards long lost cousin.

Yes it is horrible but that can change easily to make the name less hickish First tying to change the spelling to Beau. It look more classic and less redneck let change Jack to Jackson. Beau Jackson looks a sounds a lot better then Bo Jack. Maybe you can sell you boyfriend on this if not do not name you kid Bo Jack.

Jack is cute, but Bo is a bit unusual for a US name. I don't know if he would get picked on, maybe when he's younger and the kids his age aren't the brightest, but kids usually grow out of making fun of names once they get out of like, second grade in my experience.

But I agree, I'm not very fond of the name..... Do your best to persuade your boyfriend if you feel strongly about it.

Even just changing it to Jack Bo would be better because people almost never tell their middle names anyway, he could just go by Jack.

I don't like it, but I don't think it'll cause problems when he's in school. His name will probably be one of the more common, unless you are sending him to a private school. But I like the spelling Beau much more. But the BJ initials aren't great either. Point those out to him and ask if he wants people calling his son ******* all the time. I don't think anybody would have trouble over the name Bo regardless of how its spelled, but BJ might cause some problems.

I definitely agree with you!! Bo Jack is a really awful name and I know he would be teased a lot in school! To compromise with your boyfriend you could just name him Jack instead but definitely get rid of the whole Bo thing. Good luck!(:

If he's determined to use the name Bo, then at least spell it Beau - Bo just reminds me of Little Bo Peep. Jack is really cute, but you need a longer middle name to go with the first name Beau - two one syllable names don't work well together at all. Beau Jackson, Beau Jacob or Beau Jacoby (Juh-Koh-Bee) are similar, but they flow a lot better. :]

Yikes! I don't like the sound of it! If he really likes either Bo or Jack then try using different names with EITHER ONE. I think Jack suites a boy much better! Bo can sound like a girl name like Little Bo Peep...

Honestly I agree with you. I laughed out loud when I read that. I mean Bo or Jack wouldn't be bad for a middle name or Jack for a first name but not together like that. It doesn't matter what his ethnicity it isn't good for any one.

Lol, i'm not even lying- when I was in high school i had a friend named Bo Diddle Ramirez. His parents were on crack or acid or something. But it sounded cute in a funny. Bo Diddle hahaha.

I think Jack is a cute name though.

I think I'm alone with this one, but I like it. I do think Bo should be spelled Beau though.

Beau isn't an unusual name (the child won't be called by his two names at school)

Beau is cute. Beau Jack is not. and Bo with anything isn't either.

Just put your foot down and don't let him do that to your kid

they have it hard enough as it is. give them a normal name

because parents think it's cute to be unique. i'm sure the kids in his class won't agree

You can name him Robert Jack and use Bo as a nickname

I agree, I don't like it at all. If you want a Korean inspired name, there are others that might work better, or use the Korean name as a middle name.

Well, spelled like that, yes it's pretty bad. Our son's name is Beau (spelled the French way) But, with a one syllable name, you need a longer middle name. Something at least 2 syllables. Our son is Beau Wesley after my dad. Good luck!

It sounds to me that the boyfriend is already planning on baby being a football or hockey star, or maybe a professional wrestler, something uber-butch. Woe if the kid shows talent in writing or music.
