I used to work at a saddlery and I've spent a lot of time around ranchers. I would say that most of the uncommon names are very old names that have fallen out of fashion or they are ethnic names. To tell the truth, we often forget the contributions of Hispanic Americans and Black Americans when we think about cowboys.



Let's see...uncommon names of cowboys... I knew a Manuel, a Hollis, an Abraham, a Gene. a Ross...



You know, it's pretty hard if you don't know the kiddo to suggest a name.



I wonder if there is a cowboy museum in your area? If not, maybe look for a historical website. I'd bet that you will find the story of a brave and heroic cowboy with a name that will strike your fancy. That way, you can tell the little darling why you chose such a wonderful name for a perfect angel.

Dakota! I suggested the name on here and everyone said it sounded like a cowboy, lol! Dallas, Austin, Houston, Arizona, Dusty, Cooper, Ryder, Dawson, Maverick, Buck, Bronson, Colt/Colton, Jack, Rowdy, Truman? Thats all I can think of right now.
