Question:
please help- looking for names similar to "Taylor Grace" southern sounding unisex names for girls?

I really LOVE the name Taylor Grace - as one full first name- but I can't use Taylor because its a complete no no from my hubby, due to an ex boyfriend being named Taylor.

I love the fact that its a unisex name paired with a very feminine name, and that it flows together and can be said easily together, like "taylor grace" and it comes out smooth sounding.

I'm looking for more names like this, and I really like unisex names like peyton & spencer, but i also like feminine names, and anything southern sounding.

another name i'm considering is Audra Leigh.

names like that with short second parts of the name(example: Lynn, Leigh, Grace, Rose) is what I like

Thank you :)

Taylor isn't a unisex name. It's a surname, masculine boy's name, and occupation that was strictly male. Females were and still are seamstress.

The majority of "unisex" names really aren't "unisex". They're nothing more than masculine boy names being wrongly put on poor little girls by ignorant parents.

Peyton and Spencer are also masculine boy names.

The fact that you don't give a damn that you're going to use a masculine name on your daughter, shows just how selfish you are and how much you don't care about this potential daughter, who has to live with this name, not you. She'll be confused as a boy. Have to correct doctor forms that she's female, not male. And more than likely get mail addressed to Mr. Taylor / Peyton / Spencer / Whatever masculine name you pick Lastname. All because you're ignorant and selfish.

Giving your daughter a masculine boy's name is doing nothing more than telling your daughter that you think being a girl is degrading, and that by having some ridiculous, horridly, super macho, masculine name that she's some how better than the other little girls who have feminine names, names that actually fit their own genders.

Honestly, I wouldn't use a "unisex" name. They aren't very attractive at all on females. They are traditionally masculine names. I don't see the appeal at all for them on a little girl. A feminine name doesn't have to be flowery and girlie and cutesy. There are many names that fit will on a girl without being overwhelmingly girlie. I don't see the appeal in naming a girl something that someone would name their son.

And, just real quickly, you asked our opinions, so we are going to give them to you. The sources for my answers come from multiple sources that back up my statements with facts. I'm not just flying off sputtering whatever I might to insult you. That is not my intention. My intention is to bring you an accurate answer that may have you consider what it is that all parents should consider: if the name is best for the child.

Also, if you want a real "southern" name, how about Bobbi Jo? Haha. I'm kidding.

Some name suggestions are as follows... [assuming you want Grace as the middle still]

Lyra Grace

Leila Grace

Kyla Grace

Ella Grace

Anna Grace

Emma Grace

Ava Grace

Nora Grace

Lila Grace

Eva Grace [ee-vah]

Other ideas...

Emma Louise "Emmy Lou"

Sadie May

Daisy May

Sarah May / Sarah Ann / Sarah Jean

Rose Ann

Mary Susan

Emma Jean

Laura Jean

Susan May "Susie May"

Delilah Jean

Something with Jean, Jane, May, Sue / Susan, Ann, Louise / Lou or Jo as the middle would work for that "southern" feel.

To be honest, I think your husband has the right idea on this one. Taylor is a masculine boy's name and is very unattractive on girls.

Daisy May

Lilah Grace

Chloe Ann

Holly Jean

Darcy Rae

Lilly Kate

Lola Rose

Molly Sue

Anna Leigh

Be careful when giving your child two first names that aren't hyphenated. Most likely people will end up dropping the second name and you'll be left with just Daisy or Lillie or Chloe, etc. I have a friend whose name is Emily Louise but until last year none of us even knew there was a "Louise" in her name! So make sure you love the first name by itself as well, as that is what she may end up going by.

I love Molly June. I know that probably isn't that southern/countryish but I've loved it ever since Amanda Peet called her daughter who was born last year Molly June. It reminds me of Walk The Line which reminds me of Southern America.

Butcher Rose. Perfect for your theme - a surname describing a masculine profession, and a super-trendy extremely common middle name.

Taylor is not a "unisex name". It is a surname. And what on earth do you think the "really feminine middle name" will do? Once she gets past a month old, nobody will ever ask what it is again.

The way these names got started is that people gave their kids family names. So, if your maiden name was Taylor, you could name your Taylor Rose.

Why not ask your family if there are family names and then see if you like any of them

There probably is a name with a family connection that you will want to bestow on your child.

Life and love are the first gifts we give our children, then we give them a beautiful name and that connects them to the family and shapes the way the world connects to them.
