Is it acceptable to call a baby boy Kelly?

My friends have said I am nuts but I really like it.

I also like Kyran for a girl?

I'm Irish and Kelly is an Irish surname, so as boys usually are referred to by their surnames in school/sports etc, I think it sounds lovely and quite appropriate for a boy. Much nicer and more normal then on a girl infact. It sounds weird and stupid on a girl.



I also really like Kyran for a girl. Prefer Kyrah tho'.

well you are not nuts because i actually physically know someone called Kelly who is a boy. Infact he is in our school. It's alright to like it. Some people have their own thoughts.. just like you do about the boy name Kelly. So there is such name as Kelly as a boy!



Kyran... Yes. There is a Kyran who is a girl that I know. Kyran is a nice, modern name so yes i do like it.

Of course it is acceptable to name your boy Kelly. It is a good Irish name. I do like Kyran for a girl also.

Kelly is a unisex name and perfectly suitable for a boy or a girl. In fact, it's a popular Irish name. I knew a girl named Kyran but it was spelled Keiran.

A lot of 'girl' names are used for boys as well. While I don't care to do that myself, many people use them and it's perfectly acceptable. Kelly is one of the least 'feminine' girls names I've heard for a boy as well. Some that I find really weird are names for guys like Lynn, Shannon, Courtney, or Dana.

My boy cousin's middle name is Kelly - Matthew Kelly.



He would get teased less if it were his middle name, but it's totally your choice.
