Question:
Would you rather have 5 sons or 5 daughters, why, and what would you name them?
?

1. Would you rather have five sons or five daughters
2. Why?
3. What would you name them?

***
I would rather have five daughters but, of course when it comes down to it, all that matters is the health of the children. 5 sons, 5 daughters, or a mix of both would be great for me, especially since the one thing I want to do most in life is have a large family. But, when considering this question and if it came down to me, I'd have five daughters. Yes, maybe I am a fan of Pride and Prejudice but that has nothing to do with my decision. I have always imagined having a daughter to dress up, be friends with, and do all sorts of girly things with, but imagine that times five! Also, I get along with girls better and girls just seemed so much more chill and relaxed, and i'm a pretty chill and relaxed person. I'd much rather not chase after five boys!

WHAT I'D NAME THEM:
Girls:
Eva Katherine
Elaina Claire
Elisa Grace
Eleanor May
Emme Carolyn

(No I did not plan naming them all with the same initial... it just so happens that my five favorite girl names start with the name letter. Odd!)

BOYS:
Max Joseph
Thomas Daniel
Samuel Alexander
Benjamin Michel
Theodore Robert

1. Five sons.

2. Because if I had daughters, everyone and everything would be pressuring them into the "PINK box", wherein they would be expected to act like princesses, wear dresses and frilly things all the time, love fashion, enjoy ballet etc. It's very sexist but, unfortunately most people don't realise it, and thus continue to limit the imaginations and expectations of little girls everywhere. And I'm not sure how well I'd be able to deal with that.

That aside, if I had sons, everyone and everything would be pressuring them into the "BLUE box", wherein they would be expected to be manly and protective (usually of little "weak" sisters), rough, slightly stupid and interested in violence. Just like the "PINK box", it's sexist and damaging, but I'd be much more confident fighting the stereotypes because, I love long hair on boys, I think pink looks great on them (it was their colour originally) and I know for a fact that boys have a much easier and more privileged time in the ballet industry in comparison to girls.

Plus, boys are expected to conform to warped codes of masculinity far more than girls are expected to conform to warped codes of femininity, and I'd personally like to change that - if not for the world, then for the well-being of my own sons...

Health is all that matters, and I would love ALL equally and more than anything in the world.

I prefer girls. I have three little brothers, my uncle has no children and my aunt has 9 BOYS! So there is A LOT OF TESTESTERONE.

Five boys, definitely! Being a girl, I wouldn't want to deal with raising five of me. I'm also more into things that are usually classified as boy things rather than girly stuff like dressing up, doing makeup and hair, etc. The fact that I have a lot more favorite boy names than girl names helps too.

I myself would favor five girls, also! Not because I am a girl, because that would be a little sexist, so to speak, but because I have a younger sister and the majority of my younger cousins are girls so I have more experience taking care of little girls rather than little boys. Ideally, I'd love a mixture of both, but for the purpose of this question I'll say five girls. If I choose to have a family when I'm older, I want it to be a family that I'm capable of taking care of. I know how to be a little girl, I was a little girl, really I still AM a little girl! I'd be able to understand their feelings a lot more (as I plan on not forgetting how it is to be a teenager, since my mother and father seem to have! I don't blame them, though, looking after us five must be pretty tough!)

Right.

♂ 1 - I'm going to be irritating and say that I'm having twins for my first batch! Haha! Sorry, I've always wanted twins because there are no young people around here who are my age, including my siblings! They're all four-five years older than me or NINE (and a half) years younger!

So, little girl ♀1&2 -

♀Natalia Alys-Mai (Welsh & Italian)

♀Lorelai Claire (Known by Claire as I am known by my second name, too!)

♀Saskia Jayne

♀Hazel Ailsa (Ailsa after my mum)

♀Sadie Anna-May OR Leila Mai (Lay-lah)

BOYS

Imma have some trouble with this :-|

♂Oliver Caine (Ollie)

♂Samuel Jakob (Sam)

♂Liam Daniel (Daniel after my dad)

♂Nigel Alan

♂Nicholas Ryan

Hope I helped!:)

I would rather have a mix of both but for the sake of the questions, I would rather have 5 girls because 5 boys would be too much to handle (all the wrestling and fights like I have with my brother???) I wouldn't be able to handle it. I've always wanted to have a daughter to do father-daughter things with, and make her happy by playing tea party with her and beating up her boyfriend if he breaks her heart XD!

I would name them:

-Blanche

-Pearl

-Sunny

-Helena

-Madison

Sadly, my dad is a very traditional Chinese man, and he would practically disown me if he didn't have a grandson (although my brother would also have children). But I don't really care about the Chinese family bloodline or whatever, cuz I just prefer having daughters! XD

Boys for me..

Because i'm a serious tomboy.. and the idea of having a super girly daughter (or 5!) is a bit scary!! Much rather be climbing trees, building lego and playing computer games :)

1: Morgan William

2: Reuben Thomas

3: Oren Stephen

4: Triston David

5: Evander Dylan

Morgs, Roo, Oz, Trick & Vanda.

And because i would take any combination of healthy children... however make-up and princess obsessed (shudder)

2: Evelyn Jeanette

1. I would rather have five daughters.

2. It's not that I wouldn't want some sons as well, but I can't imagine having children and not being able to pick out frilly clothing for them, take them shopping, etc. I usually relate better to girls than boys anyway. I'm also a very calm, non-active person, and I wouldn't be able to run after boys. I do not have any brothers, only a sister, so I don't even think I would know how to raise a boy! Additionally, there aren't that many boys' names that I like, so I'm not even sure if I could come up with five boys' names that I love.

3. I would name them...

- Eleanor Iris

- Briony Louisa

- Mabel Rosalie

- Violet Josephine

- Adeline Ivy

I would have 5 girls. Even though I do like boys better and if the question was would you rather have a son or a daughter, I would say son, but 5 boys is just way too many.

My girls:

Courtney Lynn

Nora Elizabeth

Juliana Grace

Mariella Heather

Bianca Jean

(Courtney, Nora, Julie, Marie, Bianca)

If I were to have 5 sons they would be named (this is hard because I love so many boys names):

Robert George

Andrew Xavier

Malcolm Tyler

Bradley James

Henry Michael

(Rob, Andy, Malcolm, Brad, Hank)
Liv
2013-08-10 15:53:25 UTC
I'm honestly not sure. I'd be happy either way. Ideally I'd have a mix of both, and honestly if I had 5 of all one gender I would try again (if I was financially and medically capable) to see if I could get the opposite gender. So I guess I'll name both? (Although, I do tend to like boys names better than girls names)

So, if I had 5 boys, they'd be called:

James Oliver

Henry Raymond

Nathaniel Gregory

Casper Allan

Theodore Matthew

"Jamie, Henry, Nate, Cas, and Theo"

And if I had 5 girls, they'd be called:

Annabeth Genevieve

Della Grace

Isabel Angela

Magnolia Rae

Jayne Micheline

"Annie, Della, Izzy, Maggie, and Jayne"
Sam
2013-08-10 15:40:34 UTC
Honestly, I would much rather have a mix of both, but if I had to choose between one and the other, I would definitely choose to have 5 girls. My dream is to have a beautiful little girl that I can dress up like a princess and play Barbies with. I'd be stoked if I ended up with 5.

Names (in no particular order)

Mallory Sharlean,(Mally)

Elise Maretta

Martika Adariene (Tika)

Ingrid Lorain

Emilynn Tabitha (Emmy)

(All middle names are family names. Mom, Grandma, Grandma, Aunt, and Cousin)

I gotta do boys names too just for the fun of it so

Boys

Tobias Arnold (Toby)

Simon Ira

Scott Thomas

Richard Benjamin (Ricky)

Edmond Nicholas (Eddy)

(Again all Middle names are family names. Uncle, Grandpa, Uncle, Cousin, Dad)

This was fun. :)

1. All girls, but it was hard to decide.

2. I don't know -- like you, the health of the children is most important, and I would really love a mix of both! :) But if I had to pick between them, I would probably pick 5 girls. I loved growing up in a family of nearly all girls -- I have one sister, three female cousins, and one male cousin. Poor Jeff was kind of outnumbered growing up haha :) Plus, my boyfriend has NO female cousins. On both sides of his family, he's got ALL male cousins, so there are very few girls in his family. It might be nice to add some girls to that side of the family, haha :) However, I'm not worried about potentially parenting a boy, because I have babysat MANY little boys, and I think that would be nice too. So I'm not picky!

3. I would most likely name them...

Anya Elizabeth

Eleanor Maya

Katherine Lydia

Lila Vidith

Esther Amelia

"Anya, Nora, Kate, Lila, and Essie."

It was hard to decide, because my boyfriend only likes a couple names for each gender. All the names have meaning to us though. :)

Boys:

Dexter Constantine

Elliott Jude

Damon Alexander

Philip Isaac

Nathan Dominic

"Dex, Eli, Damon, Pip, and Nate."

I love the names you picked! even though your girls names all begin with the same letter, they are very different names and would therefore not get mixed up. They all begin with E, but they are very unique in sound apart from that.

Hope this helps! :)

Honestly, there'd be pros and cons to having either five boys or girls - I could go back and forth on this a billion time - but, regardless, my choice would be to have boys. Why? Well, my family is dramatically tipped on the "girl-side" so that I've always had baby girls around and I'd like to experience having a boy(s) partially because of this. Also boys bring dirty fun and playing outside and sports when they're a bit older - not that a girl wouldn't bring this, though - not to mention girl advice, too! Any gender child can grow into an independent adult but it seems to me boys adhere to this more naturally. Having boys seems a bit more relaxed, in my opinion.

I'd name them:

Jackson Oliver

Henry Nathaniel

Benjamin Jacob

Daniel Alexander

Nicholas Hayden
Leila.

1. For naming purposes, I would like five daughters haha, but for raising purposes (more important, obviously), I would rather have five sons.

2. I just think that boys are simpler to bring up than girls are. Girls inevitably bring more emotional complications and such haha, not that it's a bad thing, it's just normal! I know because I am one.

3. What I'd name them:

Girls -

Lily Caroline

Eden Elise

Cara Evangeline

Autumn Claire

Dahlia Katherine

Boys -

Aaron Caleb (or Aron Caleb)

Josiah Adrian

Heath Landon

Rhett Ethan

1. I would way rather have 5 sons.

2. My parents have 7 kids. 5 girls and 2 boys. I am one of the daughter's so I have four sister's and honestly I like my brother's much more. 5 teenage girls in own house equals complete chaos and drama. My house is like a Soap Opera because of all the teen girls in my house. When I'm older I can't wait to escape them.

3. I would name my five boys:

+ Shor

+ Ashley

+ Bronson

+ Hollis

+ Brady

These name's would all be after people I know and love. I'm not sure how I would pair the middle names but I would like to use: Kandice, Cody, Devon, David, Timothy, Austin, Mason and Dante because again they are people I know and love. David and Devon are my brothers.

I really want to name my children after people. Family friends and role models I had growing up. I think it makes it so much more meaningful.

ღ Although I'd love my kids whatever their gender, I think that having 5 girls would honestly be too much for me! It's mostly females in my family aside from my 2 brothers Jack and Grant and my two baby cousins Leo and Isaac and honestly, I would love to have 5 boys as I love that mother-son bond that you have like my brothers have with my mum and not meaning this in a bad way but I think that having 5 girls would be so much chaos what with the teenage years and the need to look amazing, and all the pressure and even growing up with 1 sister, she and I still argue so I can only imagine what it would be like having 4 sisters. I'm not saying that boys are a walk in the park because trust me, they're not if my two brothers are anything to go by but I'd love to have 5 boys that were close an protective of eachother and looked out for eachother. I'd love to be a mum to 5 boys and have a really strong bond with them! ღ

5 boys would probably be easier to deal with as they don't have periods and as severe mood swings. Having a mix of both would be my prefered option, but out of 5 boys or girls i would definitely choose 5 boys. Also the boys would probably argue less than the girls would and be less bitchy.

Tough call!

Really I'd love either!

And though I see myself with girls more, I'd probably pick boys, because I'd love to see my hubby with a son and I'd love for his name to be passed down, maybe that's super traditional of me, but his dad was an only child and there's him and one bother, so hopefully one of them has a sin to carry the name :)
