Opinions on the name Flynn?

Question

We have a girls name picked out but I can't find a boys name that I like but I recently discovered the name Flynn and quite like it. I was thinking of using Flynn Thomas, as Thomas was my grandfathers name.

What do you think? Is Flynn too trendy? Do you think it would suit an adult man?

Flynn is a surname, it really doesn't work as a given name. Phineas, nick name Finn perhaps

Flynn is one of my favorite names ever. I can see how it could remind someone of phlegm, but whenever I hear it I think of Johnny Flynn! He's one of my favorite musicians. And theres definitely nothing wrong with that! He's the only reason I started liking the name, really. Flynn is also a great middle name.

I never think of phlegm when I hear Flynn. I think of a cool, sweet, quirky, and funny kid that loves everyone! It's such a quirky name, and it ages WONDERFULLY. Not too trendy at all! It would suit a baby, toddler, child, teenager, and an adult! It's an awesome name!



P.S.- Flynn and Max are both on my list :D

i love flynn!

maybe because when i was younger, the kids down the street were oscar, ethan, rufus and ru had a friend called flynn, so i guess i have good things associated with it, hehehe.

very cute name and not very common either.. i like unusual names so i would put it on a girl aswell, ;)

I wouldn't name my son Flynn but If you like it then go ahead. If I had a son I would name him Marcus. Flynn kind of sounds like a nerdy/skinny guy name to me.

I think it sounds like Flem (correct spelling is Phlegm). The kids would probably use that in school :-(
