How do you pronounce this name?

My husband and I want to name our daughter Renelee, but a few people in our family are complaining its not spelled right as to how we pronounce it.

It is pronounced Renae(Renee) + Lee. I was spelling it Reneelee but it seemed too long so I took out one "E".

When you see Renelee how do you say it?

Please keep in mind I am NOT asking if you like it. Just how you pronounce it. It has meaning behind it and that WILL be her name. Just how would you say it and/or spell it?

OK, I won't say anything about the fact that I don't like the name.

Looking at Renelee and thinking about standard phonetics, the pronunciation of this name should be REEN-uh-lee. Second choice would be REN-ell-lee.

To get your choice pronunciation, I think you'll need to change the spelling to accommodate that long "A" sound. You might consider using your own example (It is pronounced Renae(Renee) + Lee.) and spell it Renaelee or try Renaylee.

Since it's an odd name, an odd spelling may be the only way to achieve your goal.

I would pronounce it Ren-ee-lee, just based on the way you spelled it. But, I think it sounds prettier pronounced Renae-lee. Why don't you just spell it that way? Renaelee, or Renaylee. It would be alot easier for people to pronounce it the right way.

Anyway, I hope you find the best name for your baby girl!

When I read it, I read it as Ren ee lee.

If you spelled it Reneelee, I think I would read it as Ren ee lee still

Spelling it Renalee, but I would read as Ren a lee, with a short a sound.

I think the best out of all the spellings for people who don't know the name to pronounce it correctly would be Renaelee, in my opinion.

Good luck to you!

when i first looked at it i thought it would be pronounced Re-knee-lee but the more i said it and looked at it it started to become re-NAY-lee

length of the name shouldn't really matter.

if you want people to mispronounce your kids name a lot then spell it that way, but if you want them called by their proper name i would spell it Reneelee. i mean after all it is only 8 letters long.

there is a lot of names that are 8 letters long.

I'd pronounce it Reh-nuh-lee (Rennalee). Maybe try spelling it Renaelee. I think most people would be able ot pronounce it correctly then.

It honestly does not look as if it is supposed to be pronounced the way that you want to pronounce it. Why don't you spell it ReneaLee

Renelee - reh-neh-LEE

It looks better with one "E" instead of two.

The two "E"s at the end call for emphasis, so it's read the way you mentioned it above.

As all one word, my first instinct would be to pronounce it:

REneLee.

Sort of like it rhymed with "sunnily".
