Pronounced Kasp-uh where i am from :) And Casper is our preferred spelling

~ PLEASE refrain from mentioning Caspar the friendly ghost. We are aware of the connotation, but we don't care about it, that show is not watched anymore, and children these days have no idea about it (yet alone in 10 years or so when he would be in school) So please, no comments about how "he will be bullied for it" - because i assure you he wouldn't

That aside, thoughts on the name in itself?

Thanks :) *This is just for future purposes, we want to complete a top 5 list

❥ Awe! I really adore the name Casper. I like it because while being uncommon, its heard of in society, and demonstrates passion, strength, kingliness and power. As you said, in ten years or so Caspar the friendly ghost will not be heard of, so just ignore all the ignorant people on yahoo answers that keep on saying so. I love the fact that the name Casper can suit any age, as I can picture it on many age ranges. I think Casper has definitely grown on me the past few months, as I already added the spelling Caspar to my list of favorites not too long ago. Both spellings Caspar and Casper are both very nice and completely fine. Which spelling you go with is just a matter of opinion. I think Casper makes a very good first name choice, and I think you should definitely add it to your top five! ❥

You know I love this name, well, if spelled like Caspar. I see I pronounce it differently though.

I think it's a strong name, a classic name and very suitable for a boy, as well as a grown man. I don't know if you're into nicknames (I personally don't really like to prefix nicknames) but Cas is a well known and accepted full name where I live, and I only know sweet and endearing Cas'es :) . It could be a very sweet nickname if you're into it.

I really like the name. I don't have any problem with it at all. I like the spelling being like this as well - in my opinion this is the correct spelling anyway (if there really is a correct spelling of anything these days?). It goes well with other names as well in my opinion.
